Creating a new body of work takes time so while I'm beavering away creating I thought I would share an older work called, 'Squiggles n' Things' which is a fun piece comprised of squiggles, bubbles and curly things.

Sorry for my ignorance but how are these art made? They express calm and tranquility. Was it done on a canvass?

Hi Builder Christchurch

Nice to meet you. These are great questions as fractal art is not a very well known art form.

I create my art on a computer and what I do is change the parameters in mathematical formulas to create the shapes, textures, colouring and lighting you see in my work. Each piece of my art consists of many layers which are combined with each other to form the final art work.

Once an artwork is completed it can take anywhere from several hours, days or even a week or more to prepare the artwork for printing. All my work is commercially printed and currently I get my art printed onto high quality photographic paper or fine art paper which is then framed under UV glass. I'm looking at the possibility of printing my work on canvas as well. I have also made greeting cards.

I have written a couple of blog posts which you might like to read which provide a deeper explanation of what fractal art is and how I create it:
